Privacy Policy

EasyTrain (“EasyTrain”, “we”, “us”) is an independent Indian Railways utility app and website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the EasyTrain Android app or this website (easytrainapp.com), how we use it, and the choices you have. EasyTrain has no user accounts and no login — the core features work without you giving us any personal details.
Information we collect
Information you enter. When you check a PNR, search for a train, station, fare or live running status, that input (for example a 10-digit PNR number or a train/station name) is sent to the relevant data provider to fetch a result. We use it to answer your query and do not use it to identify you. We do not require your name, email or phone number to use these features.
Device & usage information. Like most mobile apps, we and our service providers automatically receive a limited set of technical data — device model, operating-system version, app version, language, a mobile advertising identifier, crash logs and anonymous usage events. This helps us keep the app stable and understand which features are used.
Location. If you use the “nearby stations” feature, the app asks for location permission and uses your approximate/precise location only to show stations near you. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app continues to work.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send railway news, journey reminders and occasional product updates. You can turn these off in the app or your device settings.
How we use information
- To provide PNR status, live train running, schedules, fares, seat and coach-position lookups.
- To show relevant content and railway news.
- To display advertising that keeps the app free (see below).
- To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve performance and features.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
Advertising
EasyTrain is free and supported by ads. We use Google AdMob with mediation, which may serve ads from partner networks including Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads and AppLovin. These partners may use a mobile advertising identifier and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Depending on your region and consent choice, ads may be personalised or non-personalised.
Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), we show a Google-certified consent prompt (UMP) before requesting personalised ads, and we honour your choice. You can reset or change your advertising ID and opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings. Third-party services
We rely on the following service providers, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting, cloud messaging and remote configuration.
- Google AdMob and mediated networks (Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, AppLovin) — advertising.
- Railway data providers — third-party sources used to fetch PNR, live-status, schedule, fare and route data. Train data originates from publicly available Indian Railways information.
- Affiliate partners — when you tap a hotel, flight or bus link, you are redirected to a partner site that operates under its own privacy policy. We may earn a commission.
We are not affiliated with IRCTC, Indian Railways or any government body (see our disclaimer).
Data retention
We do not maintain user profiles. PNR and search inputs are processed to return a result and are not stored against your identity. Aggregated, anonymised analytics and crash data are retained by our providers for limited periods per their policies.
Children
EasyTrain is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard data against unauthorised access.
Your choices & rights
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in device settings.
- Revoke location or notification permissions at any time.
- Request access to or deletion of any data associated with you by emailing us.
